What’s better than watching two High School Sweethearts say “I do?” Don’t get me wrong- I love my “Spur of the moment, just got engaged after ten months of dating but we know we’ve found the one” kind of love. There is just something so special about high school sweethearts, though. They already know the others strengths and weaknesses. They already know what drives them insane about the other, but they also know their favorite things about each other as well. I think the High School Sweethearts will always have a special place in my heart, because I can resonate with them. Paden and I were also together throughout all of high school, and got married not long after I graduated. We were young, broke, and just wanted to be married, so that’s what we did. Young love can be scary, but growing and aging together is something so special. Josh & Cadee get to have that, and I am so excited and happy for them. Their wedding was one for the books. Cadee is a lot like me, she’s a planner and over-thinker, and every detail from this wedding so well thought out. The reception decor was so lovely (thanks to Devine Designs Decor), and the ceremony couldn’t have been more gorgeous. The Rutledge’s had a special cross made (by Willow Roots Farm) just for their ceremony, and it stood behind them so beautifully. The ceremony was located at the gorgeous Pine Meadows Venue, and although I have shot a few weddings there in the past, I never photographed a ceremony within the “grove” area outdoors, so to say I was excited would be an understatement. The pond, cross, and rolling hills made the perfect backdrop for their ceremony.
When Cadee and I got together a few months back to discuss plans for the day, she decided to do two first looks, one with her Dad, and the other with Josh. Although Josh wasn’t super keen on doing a first look, they decided it would help the day to flow better if they went ahead with it, and I am so glad they did. The “getting ready” portion of the day got the best of the girls, and Cadee was getting anxious about the timeline getting a bit behind. I remember her saying, “If I could just see Josh I know I will feel better.” And that statement couldn’t have been more true for her! As soon as she seen Josh it was like all of her stress and anxiety about the day ahead just melted away, and it was pure joy and happiness from there for the both of them. It’s obvious that they are a comfort to one another, which was so special to witness first hand.
After the ceremony and family photos, the night continued on with dancing, stunning field portraits with the most perfect golden hour light, a private dance on the patio beneath the twinkling lights, and an epic sparkler exit, including a golf cart getaway. What a perfect day! Cadee and Josh, thank you for trusting us to capture all of the special memories from your day. It means more to us than you will ever know.
